March’s OwlCrate theme was Writer’s Block!
There were so many wonderful goodies in this box that were perfect not just for aspiring writers, but for anyone who loves what books, literature, and the written word represent 😀 OwlCrate nailed it yet again! Am I surprised? Nope! 😛
The box included LOADS of amazing stuff:
First off, we got the “The Serpent King” by Jeff Zentner – woot-woot! (ß Yes, that’s my celebratory noise. Well…one of them anyway.) I knew next to nothing about this book before receiving it this month, except for all the praise I’d been seeing all over Bookstagram, so I think it goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway) that I’m really looking forward to reading it. I’ve mentioned in another post that one of the reasons I love OwlCrate, and surprise book mail in general, is that it gets me outside of my reading comfort zone – this book is no exception. As you may (or may not) know, I’m drawn towards YA Fantasy. As in, I can’t remember the last time I read a non-fantastical contemporary novel. Here goes nothing! 😀
And, of course! It’s worth mentioning that TSK came with a quote-art print AND a letter from Jeff Zentner himself!
Next up! And I was really excited about this one, guys – SOCKS! Not just any socks! Banned Books socks from Out of Print. Do you guys remember being little and getting socks (or other clothes) and being like “socks…*pained smile*……..thanks…”? No? Just me? Well, thank goodness I grew out of that phase, cause now I’m like “*GASP!* SOCKS!!!” What can I say – they’re super comfy. And they keep my feet warm. Extra points if they’re cute, quirky, epic, and/or awesome. Which, by the way, these are. Two thumbs up! Or…two toes up? Okay, yeah, that was bad.
We also received bookish pins from Bookworm Boutique 😀 Yet another thing I was really excited about! It’s now becoming evident all over again how excited I was about literally everything in this box. I’ve seen Bookworm Boutique’s beautiful and amazing creations on Bookstagram, but these are the first products I’ve had the pleasure of owning. The quotes on them are so on point; I don’t even know what to say besides that they perfectly describe my relationship and feelings towards books and reading.
- “I start a new adventure every time I open a book”
- “Let’s live in fictional worlds”
- “I read to live, I live to read”
We also received 642 Tiny Things to Write About, courtesy of Chronicle Books, to help shake you out of those writing funks! It provides you with writing prompts to help get your inspiration flowing – how cool is that? Oh the possibilities! 642 of them to be exact! And it’s basically pocket size so you can take it anywhere and everywhere J
Last, but certainly not least, we got a Feather Pen from Kikkerland – because writing! Will I be using my handy-dandy pen to write in my handy-dandy 642 Tiny Things to Write About notebook? Ummmmm – YEAH!!!
Well done, OwlCrate, well done!
